In his latest article for the Austrian lawyers’ magazine Anwalt Aktuell, Stephen Harnik highlights a recurring dilemma when it comes to a change  in presidential administrations, in particular, when there is a party shift (such as occurred one-year ago).  This manifests itself when the Office of the Solicitor General which supervises litigation before the Supreme Court and operates under the aegis of the Executive Branch, argues cases before the Supreme Court which arose under the prior administration but where Presidential priorities have changed.   The Solicitor General’s twists and turns while trying to keep a straight face can be amusing.  The online version of the article can be viewed here.
